In the few years I have been a student of Christian Science, I have experienced many physical healings as well as a changed outlook on life and our purpose in it. A few of the healings which I have had are those of smoking, social drinking, dependence on vitamin pills for energy, chronic thyroid trouble, and recurrent coughs and colds. Tonsils, which had been removed by surgery, had grown back and had become infected. This condition was also healed through Christian Science.

At this time I am particularly grateful for a recent opportunity to demonstrate the spiritual perfection of man as a child of God and the nothingness of matter. In getting up from the desk hurriedly, I pushed back my chair, which toppled over backward and threw me onto the stone floor. For a moment I was rendered unconscious. The pain in my head was severe, and I feared a concussion.

Even before getting up from the floor, I declared the truth that since man is God's image and likeness, he is perfect, that there is no sensation in matter, and that in reality there is no matter to be bruised or to lose consciousness. I was alone in the office, and so I was able to do immediate and intensive metaphysical work as we are taught to do in Christian Science. Soon all sensation of pain left, together with the fear of injury. I continued my office work, and no one knew I had fallen.
