Recently, while studying the Bible and the works of Mary Baker Eddy to gain a purer and more spiritual understanding of Christ, one of the references guided me to the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy and to the section referring to testimonies of healing (Art. VIII, Sect. 24). A great desire came upon me to tell the world of the Christ, the spiritual idea of God, which I have proved to be ever at hand through the study and application of Christian Science.

I was reared in a family where Christian Science was spoken of in a derogatory manner. My introduction to this Science occurred when a friend invited me to a Christian Science lecture. The week following the lecture I had an opportunity to prove what I had heard. Our infant son evidenced a high fever and was very sick. Instead of calling a doctor, I decided to try Science.

Filled with fear, I lifted the baby from the crib and held him in my arms, searching for a right thought. Softly I repeated aloud the Lord's Prayer, and I was more aware of the meaning of the words than ever before. Then a beautiful thought came to me. I remembered that the lecturer had said, "God is good; God is Love; God is Father-Mother."
