"THE LINE OF DEMARCATION"

Christian Science makes clear that we are fashioned anew by Spirit as we utilize spiritual understanding to correct material beliefs. A student of this Science once asked a practitioner, "How can I gain more spiritual understanding?"

The practitioner opened "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy to page 462 and read aloud, "Some individuals assimilate truth more readily than others, but any student, who adheres to the divine rules of Christian Science and imbibes the spirit of Christ, can demonstrate Christian Science, cast out error, heal the sick, and add continually to his store of spiritual understanding, potency, enlightenment, and success."

The practitioner then said this: "One assimilates truth in proportion to his constant awareness of the things of Spirit. Expressing such Christly qualities as patience, meekness, loving-kindness, is adhering to the divine rules. One imbibes the spirit of Christ, Truth, as he acknowledges the spiritual fact of God's allness and of spiritual man as the full and perfect expression of God."
