RADIO PROGRAM No. 253 - The Discovery That Heals

Speaker: I believe you'll be very much interested in the experience of today's guest. He'd reached a very low point in his life when he made a discovery which brought some great changes in his health and in his outlook. That's why we've called this program "The Discovery That Heals."

Let me introduce Herbert F. Birtwistle, of Manchester, England. Before you begin, Mr. Birtwistle, I'd like to say that we're very glad to welcome you. Now tell us about your healing, if you will. Oh, yes, and be sure to include the healing of your wife, won't you?

Mr. Birtwistle: Yes, gladly. This occurred in England some years ago. I hadn't long been married, and I seemed to have a lot of responsibilities. I was a schoolteacher at the time, and we had just had our salaries cut; so there were financial worries. I became extremely run-down and then had a severe attack of jaundice. The doctor was called in, but he didn't seem to think he could do very much to help. In fact, he told me that I should find God the greatest help.
