Johnnie, a Christian Scientist, learned many things from the Bible. Every Sunday in the Christian Science Sunday School his class worked with one of the Ten Commandments or one of the Beatitudes. He learned every word of the Lord's Prayer and its spiritual interpretation, given in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (pp. 16, 17). He also was taught how to apply these truths.

His mother helped him too. Many times they worked out his Sunday School homework together. They had many helpful talks about God. They knew that God is everywhere, that good is true all the time, and that evil is untrue at any time, anywhere.
