TRUST IN GOD

[Of Special Interest to Young People]

The Bible account of Abraham's experience and of the good which came to him and to others because of his continuing trust in God served as a great inspiration to a young woman who had to choose between two courses presented to her. She was willing enough to trust God, but she wondered how she would recognize His guidance when it came to her.

This young woman, a student of Christian Science, was finding that "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy unlocked the spiritual meaning of the Bible. Inasmuch as her thought had turned to Abraham's experience with the conviction that it could be helpful to her, the student looked to see what was said about Abraham in the Glossary of Science and Health, where our Leader gives the spiritual meaning of terms used in the Bible.

Mrs. Eddy begins her definition of "Abraham" thus (p. 579): "Fidelity; faith in the divine Life and in the eternal Principle of being." The student knew that she had faith in God and that she wished to express in greater degree fidelity to God's purpose for her.
