RADIO PROGRAM No. 251 - The Healing Power of Spiritual Understanding

Speaker: If you knew that the remedy for disease, suffering, and inharmony was to be found through gaining a correct understanding of God, wouldn't you search for that understanding with all your heart? Our guest did, and he was healed of a serious physical difficulty. I'd like to introduce Thomas W. Davies, of Seattle, Washington.

Mr. Davies: One summer, several years ago, I came down with what appeared to be a heavy cold. For a while the condition seemed to be quite severe, but after about a week and a half, I felt able to go back to the office. However, when I got there, my supervisor insisted that I go right over to the Navy dispensary and have an examination. You see, I'm a civilian engineer employed by the Navy.

The doctor gave me a thorough going over, including X rays. Then he told me that the trouble I'd been having was a virus pneumonia. He said that a very dangerous condition of the heart had developed, which might prove fatal at any time. Because of its nature, there was little, if anything, that could be done for me. I'd always had good health; so I'd never had occasion to rely on Christian Science in such a situation before. But I realized that my answer lay in complete reliance on God, as we're taught in Christian Science. So I telephoned my wife, and she came and drove me home. With the help of a Christian Science practitioner, we turned to God in prayer, utilizing the spiritual understanding our religion had given us.
