DIVINE MIND'S CONTROL
Many people feel intuitively that there is a higher power which controls the affairs of individuals and nations. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy states with conviction (p. 171), "Mind's control over the universe, including man, is no longer an open question, but is demonstrable Science."
Christian Science teaches that God is divine Mind, ever present and all-powerful, and that man is the idea of infinite Mind. This fact is the opposite of the generally accepted belief that man is a mortal governed by a mind residing in the brain.
It is this false belief about man and the willingness to submit to the dictates of suppositional mortal mind that constantly cause one to become entangled in a web of doubt, fear, ignorance, and self-deception.
