THE UNFOLDMENT OF GOOD

One day the writer gathered from her garden a number of tiger lilies in bud. The weather had been cold and gray, and she thought they would bloom more readily in her living room. She did not foresee the interest and joy these flowers would give her.

One evening she saw that the petals were beginning to open. During that night the flowers opened fully; the petals, lightly spotted with brown, curved back to show the heart of each blossom. How beautiful, she thought, when she looked at the lilies the next morning. And Christ Jesus' words came to her (Matt. 6:29), "Even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these."

She saw that nothing had been added to the flowers. What had taken place was simply the unfoldment of the beauty and perfection that were already there.
