Church Dedications

Damariscotta-Newcastle, Maine (First Church).

The dedicatory services of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Damariscotta-Newcastle, will be held this Sunday at 10.45 a.m. and at 3 p.m. Local members welcome all who may wish to attend these as well as any of the services held in the church....

It was on December 7, 1941, ... that the group of local Christian Scientists first met to discuss the possibilities of holding church services. The first Sunday service was held a week later in an office on Main Street, Damariscotta. By Easter of 1942, the meeting place was moved to Taniscot Hall, Newcastle.
