It is with much gratitude and deep humility that I give testimony to the healing power of Christian Science. During the Second World War, I was employed by the government as a statistical clerk. I operated a computing machine, and this work required almost constant use of the arms and shoulders.

Early one morning I was awakened by excruciating pains and a stiffness in my arms. It was an ordeal for me to get dressed and to carry on my regular activities. I asked help of a Christian Science practitioner and continued my duties at the office, because the work there was urgent.

At the end of two weeks, I felt extremely weary, for I had slept very little because of pain. I decided to remain at home and to search my consciousness to try to determine what erroneous thoughts were hindering my healing.

While alone in my apartment I petitioned aloud in the words of the Psalmist (Ps. 139:23, 24), "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

Instantly, I understood that in reality I was perfect because God created me in His image and likeness. In this moment of complete receptivity I was healed. Every vestige of pain and stiffness vanished, and I have remained free from the trouble.

I have witnessed other instantaneous healings. My daughter was healed of earache within a few moments. She was also healed of a fever. I was healed instantly of a severe burn caused by the explosion of a gas stove.

For many proofs of the healing power of Christian Science, I am profoundly grateful. I am grateful also for class instruction and for the loving help of practitioners.— (Mrs.) Cammie Morgan Dunning, Lynchburg, Virginia.
