Christian Science has helped me...

Christian Science has helped me immeasurably over the years. Recently, when I suffered a violent attack of food poisoning, no fear was felt at the distressing physical conditions, because of the wonderful truths learned through the regular study of the Bible Lessons, found in the Christian Science Quarterly. Since important church duties had soon to be discharged, help was asked of a practitioner, and within two hours a complete healing was experienced.

Mary Baker Eddy's answer to the question, "What is man?" on page 475 of Science and Health is a constant source of support to me when I face physical difficulties. It reads in part: "Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements. The Scriptures inform us that man is made in the image and likeness of God." The continuous application of truths such as the one just quoted, brings spiritualization of thought, which constitutes protection from discord and heals one's ills.

In business, when a difficult problem arose in human relationships, the situation was healed in Christian Science through my understanding of our Leader's words (ibid., pp. 476, 477): "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick." Harmony was restored, and a sincere appreciation of my duties in the office was shown.
