THE INFINITE CONTINUITY OF BEING
In the Bible we find definite affirmations as to the continuity of existence. This continuity means that one cannot lose his identity or be absorbed into Deity. According to the revelation of Christian Science, that which continues is the selfsame incorporeal identity which each one now possesses—the conscious identity which one recognizes through spiritual sense.
The material body changes from youth to manhood. But, more important, it undergoes progressive changes as a more spiritual concept of existence is gained, until eventually all material sense shall be superseded by the spiritual, and man in God's likeness, perfect and eternal, appears.
The Psalmist declared (Ps. 100: 3), "Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves." And we are assured in Ecclesiastes (3:14), "I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it."
