OUR PRICELESS PRIVILEGE

In the Manual of The Mother Church under the heading "Testimonials," Mary Baker Eddy writes in part (Art. VIII, Sect. 24): "Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important. More than a mere rehearsal of blessings, it scales the pinnacle of praise and illustrates the demonstration of Christ, 'who healeth all thy diseases' (Psalm 103:3)."

Are we, in humble obedience to the Manual, availing ourselves of this priceless privilege by testifying at the Wednesday testimony meetings in Churches of Christ, Scientist? A testimony, simply and sincerely given, brings encouragement, inspiration, and healing to others.

Early in his study of Christian Science, the rare occasions on which the writer testified at a Wednesday meeting were fraught with tension and fear. However, desiring to give clearer and more helpful expressions of his gratitude for Christian Science, he finally took himself to task. He realized that he had been erroneously regarding himself as a mortal vainly trying to impress a congregation of many differing and critical mentalities. He saw that there is in reality only one Mind, God, divine Love, in whom there is no room for adverse criticism, misunderstanding, or ridicule.
