For the many demonstrations of Truth which I have made through the study of Christian Science, I am most grateful.

During the latter part of 1956 a problem arose in my experience. There were a number of contributing factors, including the passing of my mother. This testing time, in which I realized the unreal nature of material existence, brought increasing understanding of the spiritual nature of Life as God. But for about a month I could not enjoy or assimilate any kind of solid food. All I could do was to drink liquids. A loss of fifty pounds in weight finally resulted from this condition.

A Christian Science practitioner, whom I had asked to help me, was obedient to Mrs. Eddy's instruction (Science and Health, p. 420), "If it becomes necessary to startle mortal mind to break its dream of suffering, vehemently tell your patient that he must awake." The latent fear which had been delaying my healing was dispelled, and the final victory was gained. Now I eat whatever I please, enjoying and digesting my food.
