While I was working in a bank, three of the employees carrying a shipment of money from a post office across the street were held up, and one of the employees who tried to save his parcel was shot. This co-worker was a good friend of mine, and I was much interested in his welfare.

He had a long siege in the hospital, and finally the night came when his family was told that he could not live through the night. At this time Christian Science was presented to him, and a beautiful, rapid healing came about. I am grateful that I was privileged to see this healing, for, at that time, I was unacquainted with Christian Science.

Two years later I manifested digestive trouble to the extent that I could not eat any solids. I lost sixty-five pounds and presented an alarming appearance. I had various examinations and treatments, and an X-ray picture showed an aggravated ulcer or cancer.
