NOTHING IS REALLY LOST
"It is impossible that man should lose aught that is real, when God is all and eternally his." This statement appears on page 302 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Man, the complete reflection of God, always has been and must always be complete and perfect. Man cannot change, because God does not change; a reflection cannot deviate from its original.
Each one of us must acknowledge God's allness and must identify himself as the spiritual reflection of God. Spiritually speaking, we, individually, as man, eternally express love, joy, peace, beauty, and intelligence. The reflection of God is never sad, confused, discouraged, and never suffers loss. These are scientific, demonstrable facts, provable to the extent that they are understood and adhered to. They also have the support of the writer of Ecclesiastes, who said (Eccl. 3:14), "I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it."
Often human existence appears temporarily to be the opposite of the true or real, the reflection of God. Sometimes something seems to be lost for a time, such as joy, peace, or health. The loss of anything dear to one may seem to cause suffering, but that which is real, the reflection of God, is never lost.
