Several years ago I had some dental work done which included an extraction. About twenty-four hours after the extraction, I was in great pain. This condition continued for two or three days, and I was advised to take a drug designed to produce sleep.

I took one of these pills and slept several hours. When I awakened, the condition was unchanged. I was unable to shave one half of my face, and the pain, now extending to my shoulder and arm, was causing me great discomfort.

I felt that I did not want to continue with the drug, and my wife, who was studying Christian Science, recommended that I try Christian Science treatment. I agreed to this, and a nearby practitioner was called. An appointment was made, and I managed to walk to the practitioner's home. After explaining the problem in great detail, I was lovingly told that it was all a lie concerning God and man, made in His image and likeness.
