I wish to express gratitude for the one who gave me Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy to read at a time I was being cared for in her home. This woman was not a Christian Scientist, but she saw my great need and felt that this religion might help me.

For years I had been ill, and on seven occasions I had been in hospitals for operations. After the last one, I was told by a doctor that it would be necessary for me to take thyroid daily because so much of the thyroid gland had been removed. I was told that I would always have lengthy spells of illness because of severe adhesions.

Through my study of Christian Science, I began to realize that God is the great Physician and that Truth, Mind, and Love heal. No lie of any kind can stand before God. I took no thyroid, and the healing, which occurred many years ago, was complete.
