"Let the redeemed of the Lord...

"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy." Thus we read in the Bible (Ps. 107:2). I can gladly say I am being redeemed from the false education concerning the nature of God and man. Through this redemption, I can accept the first chapter of Genesis as the truth of creation. All this has been made possible through Christian Science.

With a growing disappointment in my profession as a surgical nurse and a deep-seated dissatisfaction with all I thought life to be, I became subject to periods of despondency. It seemed that all my enthusiasm for living was slowly ebbing away, and I felt desperately helpless. During a despondent spell, I was preparing to call on a friend, and I cried out to God with a fervent plea. Not knowing what God was, I did not know how to pray; but I humbly said aloud, "Show me the way."

Not long after arriving at my friend's house, I began to pour out my woes. She silently listened for a while and then said she knew a book I could read that would help me to find true happiness. In spite of my antagonism to Christian Science, she bravely told me that the book was "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. And to my amazement, I gladly accepted the advice.
