When I was introduced to Christian Science...

When I was introduced to Christian Science thirty years ago, I was almost despondent, for I needed help to solve problems of lack and inharmony. A student of Christian Science loaned me Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and each week drove fifteen miles to my home in order to take me to the Wednesday testimony meeting in a city that had a Christian Science church. Sometimes she would say to me, "'Now are we the sons of God'" (I John 3:2), and, "'Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free'" (John 8:32). Truly these words were to me a cup of cold water in Christ's name.

I listened to testimonies that brought much help. Work came for my husband, and we moved to a large city where there was a Christian Science church. I entered our four children in the Sunday School, started attending church services, and asked for the help of a practitioner. Before long our problems of lack and inharmony were solved.

While traveling in the West I was involved in an automobile accident. I received broken bones and a punctured bladder, and I was taken to a hospital unconscious. The doctors operated, but said it looked as if the condition would be fatal. When I regained consciousness, I was asked if I wanted a Christian Science practitioner. I made it known that I wanted one. No more medical treatment was given, and a practitioner was called. In three weeks I was able to return to my home, and I was walking in three months. All effects of the accident were completely healed.
