HOW CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALS March 16, 1957 Issue

RADIO PROGRAM NO. 182 - A God at Hand

Speaker: The simple spiritual fact of a God at hand who meets every human need is dawning upon many who have longed for health, joy, well-being, for themselves or a loved one. We have a guest to-day who learned, when it seemed his son was beyond human help, how effective the understanding of God's presence and power can be in bringing healing to our children. This is Burt B. Wolf of Detroit, Michigan. Would you tell us of your experience now, Mr. Wolf?

Mr. Wolf: When our only son, Bud, was about ten, he was taken ill with an acute attack of rheumatic fever. He grew steadily worse and was removed to one of the large medical institutions in New York, where he was in a coma for many days. Finally we were told by the chief surgeon that there was nothing more his staff could do. They would give him no more medication, as he was too far gone.

The physician said that the youngster was beyond their help and was in God's hands, and he added that we should go home and pray. I replied that I didn't know how to pray, that I was in very poor physical condition myself, in fact, considered totally and permanently disabled and that my prayers had not helped me.
