THE REWARD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

The Bible gives us this promise (Prov. 11:18): "To him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward." How important this assurance can be to each individual. As we adhere to God's demands, we see more evidence of His perfect law bringing righteousness into our lives. Humanity has searched in vain for sure rewards, for security, for health, for happiness, in mortal life. However, such searching in matter is never rewarding or permanent.

Christian Science is showing us what righteousness is, for when one begins to cultivate spiritual qualities of thought, which produce their own reward, then his experience becomes fruitful. Jesus pointed out to his followers—and Christian Science is proving—that to find the kingdom of heaven one must seek for it within thought.

We are prone to think we are subject to problems of sickness, want, and woe. Nevertheless, in Science we find that these errors are conditions of mortal thought. The conditions yield as we see ourselves as we really are, the image and likeness of God. Many a life is rescued from misery when the individual begins to learn through the study of Christian Science that any condition, no matter how hopeless, can be corrected by a changed state of thought.
