I am deeply grateful for many proofs of the healing power of Christian Science through an understanding of the spiritual import of the Holy Scriptures and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy.

One evening I was stricken with extreme pain, and there was evidence of internal bleeding. I went to bed, and a member of my family called a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly came at once to my bedside. Through his prayerful work I was enabled to rest comfortably that night.

The practitioner pointed out passages in the Bible which afforded me much inspiration. I studied these and statements from the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, as well as various hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal. Within two weeks I was enabled to return to work and soon thereafter to engage in tasks requiring hard physical labor, which included the maintenance and repair of large steam boilers.
