A BOOK DESIGNED TO HEAL

"I was healed through simply reading this wonderful book, Science and Health." This and many similar statements by grateful people are made in the chapter entitled "Fruitage" in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. "Thousands of letters could be presented," the chapter begins (p. 600), "in testimony of the healing efficacy of Christian Science and particularly concerning the vast number of people who have been reformed and healed through the perusal or study of this book."

"What," one may ask, "is in this book which so effectively transforms the body?" It is no strange doctrine: it is the utterance of Christ, Truth, set forth in language easily understood by the spiritually inquisitive seekers for a happier, healthier way of life. It is the Word of God, which, we read in Hebrews (4:12), "is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword."
