NO ABIDING PLACE FOR ENVY

In a heart filled with love for God and man, there is no abiding place or room for envy. He who is conscious of infinite, universal divine Love knows God as the source of all good and is aware of the fact that he can rely on unchanging Principle for the meeting of every need. Christian Science teaches that in the measure one recognizes man's unity with God, he proves his divine sonship and evidences in daily living the fact that God bestows His bounties on all alike.

As we learn to love more truly and universally and to reflect more consistently the qualities of God, we become cognizant of the fact that because God is All, man has all good through reflection. Since all good proceeds from one source—God—there is no reason for envy. From the never-ebbing and ever-flowing fountain of divine Love, there emanates an abundance of diversified, infinite, and divine ideas which, if effectively utilized, can meet any specific need.

It is well to know that individual consciousness has available to it every good thought. Why, then, is it necessary to compare our progress with that of another? Let us rather rejoice in every forward step taken by our neighbor, well knowing that we too can reach the desired goal. As our understanding of God and man increases and a larger sense of the nature of infinity dawns upon us, the unfoldment of the good already ours becomes visible.
