THE HOUR OF PRAYER

Oma Olna Martin

Prayer is the heart's acknowledgment
Of God's all-gracious power,
And faith receives its blessing
In this receptive hour.

God knows the intention of the heart,
The language that it speaks,
The love that pinions its desire,
The manna that it seeks.

No righteous prayer is lost to Him
Who marks the sparrow's fall,
And when we pray in humble faith
He heeds our slightest call.
