"Behold, now is the day of salvation"...

"Behold, now is the day of salvation" (II Cor. 6:2). The Apostle Paul's challenging statement of present salvation with all of its implications is emphasized and reemphasized throughout the writings of our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. My first healing, that of tuberculosis, was an impressive proof of the truth. Christian Science treatment was requested as a last resort, and within a week after treatment was commenced every symptom was overcome, and the healing was complete. Three days thereafter I returned to my employment, greatly to the amazement of my associates. That was many years ago, and the healing has been permanent. A second outstanding healing was that of Spanish influenza during World War I.

A healing by mental surgery was joyously experienced when I injured my side on a metal post. The pain was well-nigh unbearable for a number of days. However, when I rejected all suggestions of well-meaning friends to resort to taping or other material means and determined to rely solely on Christian Science treatment, the complete healing came overnight. I returned to my work the next morning.

When a loved one passed on, Christian Science supplied comfort, consolation, and the assurance that all was well. A more recent healing was that of chronic indigestion and other complications; they had forced me to my bed for some ten days, the first two days of which I was in a coma. At over seventy years of age I am now enjoying a measure of health and well-being that I once had hardly dared to hope would be possible for me to achieve. I am on the job every day, doing my share of the world's work, and living has become a zestful and satisfying experience. "Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (II Cor. 5:17).
