GOD'S LAW

"God's law is in three words, 'I am All;' and this perfect law is ever present to rebuke any claim of another law." This incisive statement is found on page 30 of "No and Yes" by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and it reveals the simple, scientific method of eradicating all that is unlike good. If we really establish in thought a clear sense of God's allness, nothing unlike the infinite idea can remain in our experience. This vivid sense of reality may be only momentary, but in this moment the law of God's allness has been obeyed, and it must inevitably rebuke "any claim of another law."

There is no material law to contest the divine government. Mortal mind and its subjective state called matter are really nonexistent. They have therefore no conscious starting point from which to formulate the so-called laws which claim to enslave mankind. Divine Mind alone is conscious, and no other intelligence exists. Mind's law is as all-pervasive as is Mind's knowing. No suggestion of another law can therefore possibly exist, because there is no other mind to know it.

No law-enforcement problem exists under the divine government. Mrs. Eddy shows us why this is so on page 258 of "Miscellaneous Writings." She says: "In the spiritual Genesis of creation, all law was vested in the Lawgiver, who was a law to Himself. In divine Science, God is One and All; and, governing Himself, He governs the universe." Divine law and its enforcement then are one. This law is omnipresent and omnipotent, and its enforcement is instantaneous and irresistible. God's law is wholly good; and when understood and obeyed, this law brings abundant good into every department of our lives.
