I have had many healings since coming into Christian Science and am very grateful for them, as well as for a better understanding of the Bible.

When I was a small child, my mother was led to Christian Science for physical healing. In it she found not only physical healing but spiritual peace and joy. She was transformed from a nervous, miserable, unhappy woman into one who was the picture of health and happiness. Soon after she began the study of Christian Science my brothers, my sister, and I were enrolled in the Sunday School. As a young man in my teens I can remember my father's instantaneous healing of the drinking and smoking habits.

I attended the Sunday School until I was twenty years of age. Then I came to the conclusion that if God made everything perfect, there was nothing for me to do. I failed to grasp the fact that each one must prove the truth for himself. My mistaken attitude lasted for several years, during which time I was constantly seeking material gains. I rose rapidly in the business world, but I was never at peace, and I brought inharmony with me wherever I worked. As a result of my neglect in not seeking the right spiritual values, I suffered a severe nervous breakdown. My healing was slow, and many faults of character had to be corrected. Also I had to realize that there is only one power and one source of supply, namely God. I am very grateful to state that I was completely healed through Christian Science.
