"THEY SHALL NOT HURT NOR DESTROY"

All of God's ideas, dwelling in His infinite kingdom, are incorporeal, eternal, useful, wise, harmless, loving, and pure. Each individual spiritual identity has only the capacity to respond and function in exact obedience to the law of its creator, God. There is no possibility of disobedience, for the all-wise, supreme God is in perpetual control of all real being.

One who is seeking to solve a human problem, be it sin, sickness, or any other discord, must be correct in his thinking. He must recognize the absolute scientific fact that, as Christian Science teaches, man and the universe are spiritual and not material. This consciousness of spirituality brings into immediate operation the laws of Life, Truth, and Love, which control God's universal kingdom. This kingdom, including its perfect law of Love, is ever at hand.

Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 91): "The Revelator tells us of 'a new heaven and a new earth.' Have you ever pictured this heaven and earth, inhabited by beings under the control of supreme wisdom?" Describing the millennial state of harmony on earth, Isaiah declared (11:6), "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them." He then said (verse 9), "They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea."
