Giving a Cup of Cold Water

The Mother Church gratefully acknowledges reports received from several branch churches of projects carried on during the past year in which each member was asked to loan copies of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, to individuals who might be receptive to Christian Science. On page 570 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes: "Millions of unprejudiced minds—simple seekers for Truth, weary wanderers, athirst in the desert—are waiting and watching for rest and drink. Give them a cup of cold water in Christ's name, and never fear the consequences." And later in the same paragraph she adds: "The spiritual idea will be understood. Those ready for the blessing you impart will give thanks."

A church in Texas reports:

"This undertaking has been the means of our recognizing and bringing to light the desire for Truth of those with whom we come in contact in our daily activities. Many wonderful demonstrations of healings have been reported as a result of this prayerful work.
