At the time I took up the study of Christian Science I was suffering from fallen arches. For a number of years I had experienced much discomfort. I had tried every material remedy known to me, including special shoes and supports, but I received only temporary relief.

One day a Christian Science practitioner asked me what the trouble was, and after hearing my version of the problem, she said, "Lift your thought, and as your thought rises, you will be healed." No help was asked, and none was given. I pondered this statement and began to put it into practice as best I could, spending many hours each day studying the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. Finally one day I realized that I was healed. This was nineteen years ago, and the healing has been permanent.

When my husband passed on, I was left alone with a house and grounds much too large for one to look after. Loving, sympathetic relatives advised the sale of the home and the purchase of a smaller one. I said, "No, I shall remain where I am and await divine guidance." I had long since learned that a change of place does not heal grief and loneliness, a vacuum which only God, infinite Love, can fill.
