TRUE ECONOMY

A Friend once told me she was tired of hearing the word "economy"; that she had been reared on economy and had had enough of it. Evidently she was associating economy with limitation, whereas the two are not related.

True economy pertains to order. As a spiritual fact it presents the oneness and inseparability of demand and supply. In the degree that this oneness is patterned in human experience we shall keep our demands in line with our present supply. We shall do this as consistently and with as much gladness as we follow a rule in mathematics.

Such practice is not based on a sense of limitation—a false sense of economy. We cannot limit the infinite demand of Spirit, God, and we cannot limit Spirit's infinite supply. Demonstrating obedience, self-discipline, and love of the right idea in human experience leads to the orderly use of present resources, and eventually the problem of uncanceled obligation disappears.
