The Normal class in the Board of Education was held early in December. The Normal class convenes on the first Wednesday of December every third year, as provided for in Article XXX, Section 1, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy.

The teacher of the 1955 class was Lt. Col. Robert Ellis Key, C. S. B., of Boston, Massachusetts, and London, England Colonel Key has served the movement in many capacities, including District Manager of Committees on Publication for Great Britain and Ircland, member of The Christian Science Boardd of Lectureship, and President of The Mother Church. He is at present the Editor of The Christian Science Journal, Christian Science Sentinel, and The Herald of Christian Science in its various editions. He has had long experience as a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science.

The class, which, in accordance with the Manual, numbered thirty, was made up of pupils of twenty-six different teachers. They came from many states in the United States as well as from other countries, as follows: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin, and from South Africa, Australia, England, France, Switzerland, and Canada.
