On pages 472 and 473 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes, "We learn in Christian Science that all inharmony of mortal mind or body is illusion, possessing neither reality nor identity though seeming to be real and identical." This truth was proved in my experience.

I manifested an abdominal tumor, which was enlarging and causing me much discomfort and fear. Finally I awakened to the fact that there is no growth but spiritual growth. I realized that spiritual man reflects and expresses the one and only Mind and that this Mind was my Mind; so I could have only the consciousness of Mind. Every time an erroneous thought would enter my consciousness, I would deny it with the truth that God created all and pronounced it good; consequently, God did not create a tumor; and therefore there could not be any. I knew that man is not material, but is a spiritually governed divine idea. There could be no place in this spiritual idea where a tumor could be formed, no place for it in divine consciousness, and I could not be conscious of it. One day when dressing I noticed the tumor had disappeared, and there has been no return of it.

I have experienced healings of influenza, a sprained ankle, and an ulcerated tooth. The tooth was quickly healed when I realized this truth in Science and Health (p. 463): "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." Our family has had healings of croup, convulsions, tonsillitis, and a gathering in the ear.
