"Freely ye have received, freely give" (Matt. 10:8). These words of Jesus have come to me often, and with them has come a great longing to give, in the true sense of giving. It is with this desire that I write this testimony. The blessings received since I became interested in Christian Science are too numerous to mention in this testimony alone, but I should like to relate a few of them.

While attending a Christian Science lecture many years ago, I was healed of a painful hip condition which had been troubling me off and on for seven years. I came to the lecture in great pain, but became so engrossed in what the lecturer had to say that I forgot all about myself. Upon leaving I found to my joy that I was free. This healing has been permanent.

While attending junior high school my son was asked to play a trumpet solo at a concert to be given at the end of the school year. The day before the concert was to be given he came home very much disturbed and unhappy. He said that while practicing he had made mistakes because he was unable to concentrate on the music. He told me that he was frightened by the thought that he had to face so many people the following day. While he was talking, an overwhelming sense of compassion and longing to help swept over me, and my heart turned to the Father for help. Immediately the answer came, "God is directing, and you are reflecting." With joy I knew that in reality no mistake could be made and that the boy would be facing God's ideas, capable only of loving. Needless to say, the concert was a success. My son made no mistakes, and his playing was a joy to all.
