TRUE AMBITION
Father,
I ask Thy blessing on my life,
Upon each thought, each motive, and each task.
Thine be the glory, Father, for I know
I can do nothing of myself alone.
Just this, in deep humility, I ask,
That I may go where Thou wouldst have me go
And serve Thee with no planning of my own,
But with the plan Thou hast.
Trusting in Thee, I will not fear earth's strife,
But when each battle of my way is past
And victory won,
Then may I hear Thee say,
"Servant, well done!"
Dorothy Day
