Interest in Christian Science in Belvedere began as early as 1907 when a number of students met to read the weekly Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly on Sundays in various private homes. Soon afterward the group became Christian Science Society, Belvedere. This society acquired ownership of a dwelling house called the Log Cabin and remodeled it for the purpose of holding Sunday services, Wednesday evening testimony meetings, and a Sunday School. The Log Cabin was in constant use until the organization moved to its present quarters.
