RADIO PROGRAM No. 72 - How a Change in Thinking Healed Tuberculosis

On this program Mrs. Mayme Louise Meier of Louisville, Kentucky, told of her own experience, as follows:

Christian Science saved my life over fifteen years ago. When I was five years old, my father passed on with tuberculosis. Later two sisters passed on with the same disease. I too began to suffer from this trouble and was treated by two prominent physicians. Despite their best efforts, I steadily grew worse until I was flat on my back in great agony and pain, and I was given only a short time to live.

I was given a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, by a neighbor who had been healed through Christian Science. I read this book in a desperate search for health. But I did not really understand anything that I read. It seemed to me the queerest book I had ever read. But finally I realized that Christian Science was my last resort. As I thought about this, I wondered if Christian Science really healed, or if its followers just thought it did. At this point the way was so dark in my life that I decided that if Christian Science did not heal me, at least I would read Science and Health to find out a little something about God before I passed on. I seemed so completely lost and God seemed so far away. I also asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment.
