I want to express gratitude to God for Christian Science and for the many healings and blessings that I have received since I became a student of it. Almost eight years ago I was healed of the smoking habit by reading the first chapter, entitled "Prayer," in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. That was my first healing. My next came a few months later, when I was healed of the social drinking habit.

I have had many other healings since, but the one which I am most grateful for was a healing of a blood disease, which the medical profession pronounced incurable. After many years of expensive medical treatment, which failed to do me any good, I finally had a physical and nervous breakdown and went to a veterans' hospital for care. After two months I recovered sufficiently to leave the hospital, but I was told to do no work for six months and then to send in a medical report from a local authority. I did as I was told, and the examination showed that I was still not free from the blood disease.

Then I went to a Christian Science practitioner, who assured me that I could be free, for God's man has no disease and God is omnipotent. I spent my time studying the Bible and Science and Health, and in about three weeks I knew that I was healed. I had been without employment, but after my healing, harmonious work unfolded for me which gave me sufficient supply.
