THOSE WHO KNOW CANNOT BE FOOLED

[Of Special Interest of Children]

One day during an arithmetic lesson in school the children wrote their answers to the problem on the blackboard. One little boy wrote 6X4=24. Another one wrote 6X4=20, and still another 6X4=23. Together the class considered the first statement, 6X4=24, and then proved that this was correct. Next they turned to the second one, 6X4=20. They quickly saw that 20 could not be right, because they had just proved 24 to be the answer. When they considered the third statement, 6×4=23, they recognized immediately that this too was false, because they knew what the truth was. In fact, no other number could ever be the true answer. Once we know the fact regarding anything, we are not fooled by false statements about it.

When we understand the truth that God, good, is All, we cannot believe or fear that evil is real. By understanding the truth we prove evil to be unreal.

Jesus said (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." And in the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes (pp. 476, 477): "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinningmortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick."
