The time is past due for me to add my gratitude to that of the thousands of grateful hearts who have found the pearl of great price in Christian Science. Before utilizing this powerful and practical truth, I thought that my existence was unjust and unbearable. I had reached a mental state of despair, tumult, and futility. The contemplation of suicide was foremost in my thoughts.

Although I was a pupil in a Christian Science Sunday School, I had been apathetic toward its teachings and doubted its teachings and doubted its claims. However, my Sunday School teacher, an earnest and alert student of Christian Science, sensed my great need, of which I had told no one. She lovingly requested that I study every day the weekly Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly and watch the results. I did not expect any results, but as I had not studied up to this time, I promised her I would give the lessons a trial.

To my great amazement things did begin to happen as never before; wonderful changes took place which could not be mistaken for the results of mere chance. Harmonious surroundings replaced discordant ones, my grades improved at school, and the award of an unexpected scholarship enabled me to attend college, something which I had thought impossible. Like Thomas in the Bible, I was overwhelmingly convinced with tangible evidence.
