I wish to express my deepest gratitude for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who was divinely led to put into words the great truth of being in such a simple way that anyone with sincere desire can find healing and comfort.

I have been healed of numerous difficulties, but shall mention just a few experiences which seem outstanding to me. My first healing was that of rheumatism so severe that I could walk in only a stooped or sitting position. Sometimes I had to crawl on my hands and knees. The practitioner who was called talked to me of God's love and of the nothingness of error. I fell asleep and awakened in the morning from the first night's rest in many weeks. I was back at work in a few days, walking normally, and there has been no recurrence of the rheumatism.

On one occasion I was healed of smallpox so severe that the eruption had spread over my entire body. The healing was complete, for not one scar remained. The health officer who had quarantined me said that the healing was a remarkable one. This healing was accomplished solely by the reading of Science and Health by my wife and myself. At that time we were living miles from a town or from any other Christian Scientists. At another time I was paralyzed on one side, unable to move. This condition was overcome in four days with the help of a practitioner, and the healing has been permanent.
