I am truly grateful to Mrs. Eddy, for without the healing power of Christian Science I would not be alive today. When I was a little over a year old, I was stricken with membranous croup. After the condition had continued for two weeks, the family physician called in three other doctors for a consultation. The verdict given to my mother was, "That child cannot live until morning."

Having nothing else to turn to, my mother called a sister who lived in another city and who was a student of Christian Science. She told my mother of the only Christian Science practitioner in our city, and a telephone call to her was made that night. The practitioner took the case about midnight, and by morning my breathing was normal for the first time in several weeks.

When the physician returned the next day, he found a well baby. When told that Christian Science had been called in on the case, he remarked to my mother, "If Christian Science can do that, you had better stick to it." This our family has done, and we have not had any other help than Christian Science for the past forty years.
