"The Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody" (Isa. 51:3). This promise and its blessing I have experienced through the study and application of Christian Science, which was presented to me when my life indeed seemed a waste place, a wilderness without hope or joy, because of ill health and inability to attend to my home duties. After the birth of my son I was unable to walk and suffered from several complications which medical aid failed to cure.

It was at this time that a student of Christian Science came to visit the place in Mexico where I lived and told me of the healing power of Christian Science. Some authorized periodicals were given me to to read, and in them I found the truth taught by our Way-shower, Christ Jesus. After I read these my health began to improve, the use of my legs returned, and I was able to walk normally.

A little later I went to England. There I began to attend a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and to study the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. With the help of a practitioner I was completely healed of my other physical troubles.
