I have had many healings in Christian Science, but to me its protective power has been of even greater value than its healing power.

Many years ago I traveled daily with my husband. It was our practice each morning to repeat aloud the twenty-third Psalm. As a result we had many instances of protection. One morning we were traveling on a narrow highway, on both sides of which were pits with two or three feet of water in them. As a large transport truck approached us a small delivery truck came from behind it to pass. My husband honked for him to drop back, but he did not heed the horn. When he kept coming far over on our side of the road, my husband saw that the only thing to do was to try to pass between the two trucks. We did pass between them, and although the small truck went into the pit alongside the road, it landed upright, and no one in it was hurt. We breathed a prayer of thanks to God for the protection that had been present for us and for others as well.

I am very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the comforting, healing religion she has given us. At the time of the passing of a dear one, Christian Science friends helped me to overcome my grief. On another occasion I awoke one morning very ill with food poisoning. My husband called a practitioner for me, and soon I was entirely free.
