TRUE PERCEPTION ASSURES HARMONIOUS EXPERIENCE

Through the study of the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy we are learning that harmonious experience is dependent upon spiritual perception, the perception which understands God as the only cause and creator, and good experience as the only experience. Christian Science reveals that because God is good and man is His reflection, we can in reality experience only good; because God is Principle, His reflection, man, must experience harmony; because God is Spirit, man is spiritual, and his experience is not in matter and mortal concepts. In fact, because God is, man is. God's all-in-allness includes man's existence.

Mary's purity of thought prepared her to bring forth Christ Jesus to a world waiting for the Messiah promised by the prophets. Mrs. Eddy's enlightened understanding of the Holy Scriptures and her devotion to the purpose of finding healing and salvation for mankind prepared her to reveal divine Science to a world waiting for the Comforter as promised by Jesus, and to found the religion of Christian Science.

Mrs. Eddy was the first to acknowledge that Christian Science is based upon Jesus' teachings. She says in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 269): "The testimony of the material senses is neither absolute nor divine. I therefore plant myself unreservedly on the teachings of Jesus, of his apostles, of the prophets, and on the testimony of the Science of Mind." Through turning to the testimony of divine Science Mrs. Eddy found God to be cause and man to be effect. Perceiving man as spiritual, our beloved Leader experienced healing and was able to help others experience it.
