LETTERS TO THE PRESS FROM CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

Middlesex Advertiser and County Gazette

London, England Middlesex Advertiser and County Gazette

In your issue ... there are references to Christian Science ... which may be misleading.

Christian Science is no "crank religion." It has brought to hundreds of thousands all over the world a deep religious conviction and a desire to follow, to the best of their ability, the teachings of Christ Jesus, the Way-shower.

In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 497), will be found the Tenets which are signed by every Christian Scientist on becoming a church member. The sixth tenet reads: "And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and to be merciful, just, and pure."
