"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and...

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases" (Ps. 103:2, 3). My gratitude to God, as well as to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, is unbounded.

My first healing came when I was in high school. Previous to this time I had been striving for a better concept of God. My parents attended an orthodox church. But I could find nothing there that satisfied me in my search for a God who is good and who does not send sickness and sin to torment His children. The fear that the material world and mortal man would be destroyed overcame me and occasioned a nervous breakdown. Several months of medical remedies brought no relief.

At this point I turned to Christian Science, and through the help of a faithful practitioner and the loving encouragement of my paternal grandmother I was soon able to return to school and participate in a full program of activities. I began to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, and I shall ever be grateful to my teacher there, whose loving help has meant so much to me through the years. I am grateful also to the practitioners and friends who have helped me in times of need and to my parents, who did not forbid my attending the Sunday School of my choice.
